Performance Standard 4: Disaster Risk Analysis

At the Inter-American Development Bank, we are convinced that the countries of Latin America and the Caribbean can transform their development paths, making them more sustainable and improving the lives of their citizens. For this reason, on September 16, 2020, the new Environmental and Social Policy Framework was approved, modernizing our safeguard policies and guiding the management of social and environmental risks in all our projects.

In this virtual course, you will have the opportunity to learn about the new Performance Standard 4 on Community Health and Safety, with a focus on disaster risk analysis. Through videos, readings, infographics, and quizzes, you will understand the importance of studying natural hazards and climate change, as they can significantly impact development projects.

Join the effort to study risks proactively, for the benefit of people's safety, social well-being, quality of life, resilience, and the sustainable development of our region!

Starting date: July 1, 2026.
Completion deadline: December 15, 2026.
