Public Expenditure Classification for Resilient and Sustainable Development (1st ed)

This course aims to strengthen the capacity of countries in the region to integrate climate action into public finance, with an emphasis on the methodology for identifying and classifying climate public expenditure and its uses for policy planning and evaluation. Participants will acquire practical tools to understand and implement processes for tagging and classifying budget expenditures based on their contribution to responding to a changing climate. Through a combination of theory, reflection, and exercises, this course responds to the growing interest among countries in identifying and quantifying the resources within the public budget allocated to actions that support (or hinder) the achievement of climate goals.
