The PM4R Agile training course for Development Project Management was developed by the Inter-American Institute for Economic and Social Development (INDES) as part of the Project Management for Results (PM4R) initiative of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB). The training aims to strengthen the skills of teams involved in development and social impact projects by promoting agile practices and measurable results.
Participants strengthen their planning and management skills with the goal of implementing projects under their responsibility efficiently and with a results-oriented approach. The training includes an initial webinar followed by a six-week virtual phase with five modules that incorporate practical individual and group activities, always supported by a tutor. At the end, groups present a collaborative assignment in the final week.
With a minimum workload of 50 hours, the course is offered in Spanish, English, Portuguese, and French, and is aimed at intermediate-level participants. The content covers Agile fundamentals, project planning analysis, prioritization, development of the PM4R Agile plan, participatory assignment of responsibilities, and plan execution. By the end, participants will be able to identify, explain, and apply the five steps of the PM4R Agile methodology.
