Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has been identified by some experts as one of the most disruptive technologies of our times. Its potential to create texts, images, videos and sounds, practically imitating human-made creations, represents a paradigm shift, one which is undoubtedly impacting and will impact different aspects of our professional and work environments.
Although GenAI has several advantages, it also has limitations that carry associated risks, so it is important to acquire the necessary knowledge, skills, and perspective to use it responsibly.
The Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) at your fingertips: Fundamentals and practices course aims to provide IDB Group staff with the basic knowledge for using GenAI in a safe and responsible way.
The course highlights the importance of using GenAI technology, considering its rapid infiltration into all areas of life, its accelerated and continuous evolution, and its expected permanence in the future. As a primary goal, the course also aims to sensitize participants to the need for using GenAI tools in a critical manner, recognizing their potential but also their limitations and risks. Above all, it is essential to ensure GenAI’s ethical use, to preserve equality, equity, diversity, confidentiality and data security and privacy, as well as respect for human rights.
In this course, you will identify the operational characteristics of GenAI tools, as well as the advantages, limitations and risks associated with them. You will also be able to recognize key considerations for GenAI’s safe and responsible use. Finally, through a guided exercise of interactions (prompts), you will gain basic skills for using this technology within your work context.
