Badge of Excellence - Meaningful Stakeholder Engagement (MUSE) - Edition 7

The owner of this badge successfully completed the online course from INDES/IDB "Meaningful Stakeholder Engagement" comprised of 5 modules completed over 6 weeks. This badge demonstrates the owner’s ability to effectively judge if the minimum principles of meaningful stakeholder consultation have been applied based on international good practice. This badge is awarded to those participants who completed the course with a score of 90 or above. The topics covered include: the objective of stakeholder consultation and how it adds value to a project; the principles and elements of meaningful consultation; stakeholder analysis and consultation plans, including stakeholder categories, interest and influence of stakeholders, risks, and consultation plan elements; and project design and implementation decisions. Based on the IDB’s Meaningful Stakeholder Consultation: Guidance Note and a case study, the course offers authentic and collaborative activities to practice and demonstrate stakeholder analysis and consultation planning, as well as review consultation documentation and suggest recommendations for improvements. During this course, the owner of the badge participated in individual deliveries, group activities, and exchange of opinions in forums, as well as participated in a knowledge test that evaluated his/her learning during the course. All activities were monitored and corrected by a tutor. Once the course is finished, participants can: * Promote meaningful stakeholder engagement * Identify the principles and elements of a meaningful stakeholder engagement process. * Evaluate how analysis of issues and stakeholders influences the engagement process. * Analyze how the stakeholder engagement process influences project design and execution. 5. Recommend steps or actions to mitigate gaps identified between international good practice and the approach to stakeholder engagement usually taken in a typical project setting.
